Have Faith In God pt. I
by Paul Benson
Have faith in God
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:22-23
A remarkable statement don’t you agree? No, not that you could speak to a mountain and see it cast into the sea; and no, not that you can speak faith filled words and actually have whatever you say. These are awesome truths, but what I find remarkable is the fact that Jesus felt He had to tell a bunch of believers to have faith in God! This tells us that there is somewhat of a difference between believing in God and having faith in Him.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19
Believing is something that even devils can do; but the realm of faith and the wonderful things it can produce is something which is reserved for those who commit their hearts to serve the Lord. The writer of Hebrews said faith is the substance of things hoped for… (Hebrews 11:1). He referred to faith as a substance! How faith, a spiritual expression of confidence in God’s promise and ability, can manifest as a productive substance in the natural physical world we live in is quite beyond me. All I know is I have seen this marvellous thing called faith in God produce some amazing results through prayer.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:17-18
A Tragedy
My brother and his wife almost lost a son to a tragic accident. Just a toddler, he was run over by a car and suffered massive injury to his head and neck. A broken neck, a crushed skull, brain compression, and horrible injury to his face. When my brother prayed for him in the E.R., laying hands on him in a prayer of faith, the doctors remarked that God was his only hope because they were losing him. His body was shutting down because of the brain injury. Bill said, “Do what ever you think you need to do for him but my faith tells me Jesus is going to heal him.”
A Miracle
Calls were made to request prayer on his behalf; and Heaven was stormed with the faith of the Saints. They transferred him to another hospital better equipped to handle that type of injury, and resumed treatment in that E.R.. After quite some time the doctors came out and Bill said, “How is my boy?” The reply was, “Well, there appears to be some discrepancies between the tests and x-rays from the first hospital and this one.” They could not find evidence of the fractures to the neck and skull or the brain injury reported by the doctors at the first hospital!
Healed by the The Power Of God
Somewhere along the journey from one hospital to the other the power of God had come upon the child. Praise Jesus! Only serious trauma to the face remained which healed at a supernatural rate over the next few days (producing a profound effect on his caregivers!). How is the toddler now; is he going to be okay? He’s a grown man with a wife and children of his own. Looks like he’s gonna make it. Miracles can happen. Have faith in God!

Hi Monica;
Very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. My mom died in 2004 and the big hole that left in my life has never been filled. But the Lord granted me peace as I pray he will grant you also.
As to your health: Yes I will pray for you. One thing that really boosts my faith and seems to truly bring about answered prayer is reciting the promises of God’s Word; not only to myself but also to the Lord in prayer. He does not need to be refreshed on the content of his Word, but I thing verbalizing his promises lets him (and your spirit as well) know that you are leaning upon a confidence that what he has promised he will perform. The results are not always immediate or visible to the eye, but God IS faithful to his Word.
May the Lord bless and keep you, and fill your heart as well as your life with the power of his grace;

Hello Veronica
Yes, I will pray for your infirmities. God is well able to keep you and bless you through the power of his Grace. Though I myself have suffered much with infirmities of one sort or another over the years I do believe in (and have seen God perform) miracles of healing. God still heals folks today, and we should not shrink back from prayer in this regard. But there is often a part we must play also.
I suffered greatly as a young person with asthma, allergies etc,. Over the years I learned most of my suffering was due to environmental contamination like pollen, cigarette smoke, perfumes etc.; and as I learned to recognize this I weeded out these irritating elements wherever and whenever I could.
One of the worst, and has been the hardest to consistently keep free from, was perfumed laundry soap and those horrid strong smelling dryer sheets (that my mom thought people could not live without)! That smell really affects my lungs and kind of closes up my airway thus affecting my breathing.
Sadly, my parents were clueless in this regard and I grew up in a home full of toxic irritants and suffered greatly when it could have been mostly avoided; and it was not until I grew up that I learned I had to take control over my environment to safeguard myself from things that ill-affected me.
Just things like keeping windows closed during pollen seasons, keeping my clothing from being laundered in perfumed soap, or politely insisting friends, relatives, girl friends etc. refrain from perfuming themselves if we are going to spend time around each other, has been an ongoing challenge over the course of my life.
I said all that to say: I hope you are not being ill-affected by things in your environment that could be targeted for removal thus helping alleviate some of your distress. I would suggest you pray for wisdom in this regard, as many things that can adversely affect certain people are often some-what hidden; not just because they are out-of-sight/out-of-mind things, but also because of the fact they do not affect the general population they way they do us. Even things like a completely hidden mold/mildew problem in a home can cause serious distress for some but not others. So due diligence on our part often becomes our best defense.
Blessings to you sister and also prayer on your behalf;
