BLIND GUIDES! Discerning The False Vision of the ‘New Apostolic Reformation’ and their ‘Seven Mountains Mandate’.

Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall into the ditch? – Jesus the Christ

Speaking out against the false vision embraced by so many of today’s most popular ministers has cost me a lot of readership; and I cannot say that does not bother me.

Because it certainly does!

While I am not out to build a big name for myself, or any kind of organization to sit in control of, I am quite concerned with reaching as many people as possible with the important truths which the Lord lays a burden upon me to share. If I am going to be faithful to the call of Christ upon my life (to speak the truth in love) I must stay the course. I must tell it the way God tells me!

And God is telling me to declare to you now that the overwhelming share of celebrity ministers today are following a false vision. They are deceived by a satanic deception that is leading them (and their followers!) into the arms of the destroyer of souls! Are YOU following those who are following a false vision?

Now the serpent was more subtil than any… …And the woman said, ‘The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.’ Genesis 3:1+13

As the deception of the last days grows increasingly polished and subtle it’s sometimes quite hard to speak against it. More often than not the delusions of this age are a hybrid mixture of truth and error; and great difficulty lays in speaking out against that error without sounding like you are speaking against the truth that the error is mixed in with.

For example, it’s hard to speak against the errors of the ‘inner healing’ teachings without sounding like you don’t believe in the power to cast out devils, or God’s ability to heal a wounded heart. But many teachings that accompany that particular offshoot of Christian ministry stray far from the truth; even to the point of denying the power of the Cross and what was accomplished there by our Christ. It is certainly error that needs to be confronted!

Likewise it is hard to minister against the errors of ‘Dominion Theology’ without sounding like you are denying the biblical truths concerning the authority of the believer granted us in Christ; or dismissing the prophetic passages of Scripture that detail the great exploits to be accomplished by the faithful Remnant in the last days.

Yes, we as followers of Christ have been given much power and authority through the name of Jesus and the power of his Holy Spirit; but we need to discern that the beliefs and focus of ministry of those ‘dominionists’ following the Seven Mountains Mandate are quite out of sync with the teachings of the Scriptures! And that the direction those mistaken beliefs have ministers traveling in present a great danger to them, as well as anyone conned into following their unbiblical vision.

BEWARE!

In a nutshell the Seven Mountains Mandate is a supposedly God given plan to take over the seven pillars of society and install certain ‘anointed’ Christian men and women in leadership positions over those main facets of society who will, through their (supposed) God given authority, exercise dominion over the world; thereby ushering in a wonderful age of righteousness and peace. Basically taking over the planet for Jesus, and preparing it for the eventual millennial reign.

A very nice concept! But a far cry from the last-days scenario presented in the Bible! My Bible paints a VERY different picture of the end-times!

A Critical Understanding

Why is it so critical to understand the many errors of the Seven Mountains Mandate and those of the N.A.R. (New Apostolic Reformation)? Because those who are following this false vision are leading folks into the emerging global religion of the last days which will be under the power of the False Prophet; the satanic religious leader who will convince the world that the Man of Sin is in fact Christ himself returned to earth!

Why are so few discerning the danger represented by the ecumenical nature of so much of modern ministry? Dominionists believe they can straighten out the problems of the Catholic Church (and all others) by joining with them and exercising their ‘anointed authority’ over them, thereby bringing them into submission to their skewed vision of ‘The Kingdom’.

But we need to ask ourselves here: Does the Bible tell us to join ourselves in unity to the false religions of man and ‘dominate’ them? Does the Bible promote any such religious unity; or does it teach that God’s people are to be sanctified (a called out and separated people)? Ought we really be merging with the lifeless religions of this world; or should we be obeying the call to: ‘Come out of her my people!’?

Maybe you have not heard that call, but I sure have!

The False Unity Of The End-times

The ecumenical movement is not from God! And those promoting it are not being led by the Spirit of God; they are listening to another spirit!

And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. Daniel 11:21

The Antichrist is not going to come upon the scene like a raging tyrant tearing the world to shreds. That comes later! He will appear as a man of peace bringing the solutions that the people of this world will be crying out for. He will appear to be quite divine (and will eventually declare himself to be so). Today’s ecumenical movement will merge the religions of this world into a unified entity that will receive that coming false Christ; because the leader of these now unified global religions (the False Prophet) will tell us he is our Savior!

Do you want sucked up into that global delusion of religious unity that will bring the world under the dominion of darkness? I sure don’t!

What is quite disturbing to me is the number of men and women who are supposedly at the forefront of what God is doing in this day and age that are following and promoting this false (and clearly ecumenical) vision of Dominionism. Their names are easily recognizable: Joyner, Johnson, Wagner, Silk, Pierce, Herzog, Ahn, Bickle, Hoyt, Engle, Bentley, Clement, Jacobs, Hamon and the list goes on and on. This deception has permeated the upper echelons of Christian ministry to an extent that is nearly unbelievable.

It is literally being preached all over the world by ministers with millions of followers!

Let me make it perfectly clear I am NOT saying all these folks are not Christians; or that all their beliefs are false; or even that they are not completely sincere in their desire to serve the Body of Christ.

What I AM saying is that they have been seduced into following and promoting a false vision! They have been deceived! They are allowing themselves to be led by seducing spirits and doctrines of devils; and most of them have left off the preaching of the true Gospel of Christ and the power of his Cross to promote what they claim is ‘the new thing God is doing in this generation’. But that ‘new thing’ is not founded upon the truth; and it is not a vision sent from God!

And if someone (no matter how popular or seemingly anointed they may be) exits the highway of truth, then everyone following them will exit as well.

If the blind lead the blind…

Why is it that so many preachers have left off teaching on the coming reign of world-wide tyranny which shall see Antichrist sitting on a throne? It is because they have left off believing in any such thing!

Please understand this: Many (but not all) of today’s N.A.R. ‘Prophets and Apostles’ don’t even believe in the coming time of tribulation! They don’t believe in a coming world-wide false religion with the False Prophet at the helm either. And they also don’t believe in the coming persecution of the Church at the hands of Antichrist!

Most are embracing a twisted theology that portrays all these things as either allegorical references to the struggle between good and evil, or as having been already fulfilled by events in the past; and their view of the future is thereby skewed into a false vision that is totally out of accord with the truth.

And again, I am talking about the MAJORITY of today’s celebrity ‘anointed ones’! If they are so anointed why are they preaching a message that is so out of kilter with the end-time prophesies of the Bible? And why are they leading God’s people INTO Babylon instead of OUT of it?

Why? Because the great end-time deception is not something coming way off in the future…

IT IS ALREADY HERE PEOPLE! WAKE UP!

Who Shall Sit Upon Seven Mountains?

And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH… …And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. Revelation 17:5+9

What is the true vision the Bible gives us of the end-time scenario? Is it one of the Body of Christ sitting upon the Seven Mountains of Society ruling over a planet the has been ushered into an age of righteousness and peace?

Not hardly! Not in my Bible anyway.

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; 17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? Isaiah 14:16-17

The Bible clearly teaches all the nations of the planet will eventually see great hardship and desolation under the dominion of Antichrist in the final day; NOT peace and prosperity as they are ruled by the Body of Christ!

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. Daniel 12:7

I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.  Daniel 7:21-22

The Scriptures teach the genuine Christ will return to rescue a downtrodden and decimated people who have suffered great persecution and oppression at the hands of Antichrist. But Antichrist will not have destroyed those he persecuted so severely. He will have merely placed a crown upon their heads! (For more on this see Does Antichrist Defeat The Tribulation Saints? )

FOOD4THOUGHT: What do Dispensationalism (pre-trib rapture theory), Amillenniumism, Preterism, and the false vision of dominionism being promoted by the N.A.R./S.M.M. crowd all have in common? They all promote the same falsehood. They ALL teach that the Body of Christ will not see, nor suffer under, the soon coming reign of Antichrist! I cannot help but believe they also all share a common origin: they are all doctrines of devils! The Bible absolutely teaches that before Christ comes Antichrist.

As a Christian living in this day where the end-time deception is taking such a strong root in religious circles we need to exercise great care as to who we let chart our course. We need to familiarize ourselves with what is being taught as divine instruction by those we are allowing to speak into our lives.

And if what they are teaching is not in accord with the Scriptures we need to reject both it and them!

Please take time to get up to speed on the beliefs and teachings of those associated with the New Apostolic Reformation and the Seven Mountains Mandate. Do some research; and pray this matter over seriously.

As it would take many thousands of words to explain the error and origin of the N.A.R. and the S.M.M. I would like to post some links below to certain articles that probably do a better job than I could. Please be aware that there is a tendency with some to throw out the baby with the bath so to speak; so just because I am linking to an article does not mean I endorse all the theology represented on that site. It just means I am pointing you to material that will help you recognize what the N.A.R. and their S.M.M. is all about.

Some of the following links were sent in by my readers (Thank you all!). The first is an excellent overview of the history and errors of the N.A.R. preachers. There are other good links on the page that delve into other important aspects as well.

The Influence And Teachings Of The New Apostolic Reformation

The second one gives good discussion on the Seven Mountains Mandate. A lot of interesting comments give good insight also.

The Roots of the Seven Mountains Mandate

Here is a page with many different articles from different theological and denominational backgrounds that all agree that the “New Apostolic Reformation” isn’t new, isn’t apostolic and isn’t a reformation: (Beware the Calvinistic/Cessationist slant of some of these writers.)

Please get this right: I wholeheartedly believe in true signs and wonders from God; and that the miraculous power of his Spirit is still at work in his Church today. But I do NOT believe that the nonsense I am hearing out of today’s Cotton Candy Prophets of the NAR movement is from above. And their ‘Seven Mountains’ vision of global dominion is a satanic delusion!

Read your Bible and take those words to heart. They will give you the true Heavenly vision of the final days ahead. Great persecution and hardship is in our future as true followers of the true Christ. But those dark days will soon be lightened with a glory which for us will NEVER fade. Praise the name of Jesus forever!

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.  Matthew 10:22

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.  Luke 21:36

  1. Satan’s modus operandi… First the treats, then the pain. Give out free samples (like drugs to children), then they are hooked…
Beware all appeals to ego. Much danger there.

  2. Amen Brother in Christ!! A good place to research the NAR cult is http://www.thebereancall.com. There website has helped our family find out about this nonsense that has taken over our local churches here in North county San Diego and through our charter school with the Rick Warren 3 legged stool nonsense! We thank our Lord for you Mr. Benson for speaking the Truth in love, we are praying for you, it can be quite lonely out here in modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah otherwise know as the once great state of California. May God have mercy on us. Looking forward to next post. In Jesus name, The Brown Family.

  3. Thank you so much for this TRUTH Paul!!!

Without sounding naive and as one who does not engage with any local church (any longer) the “nonsense” (as stated above in a previous comment) has certainly infiltrated our local churches here in rural PA. Until now I was inclined to think it could just be me and a misunderstanding of what I feel. How subtle Satan is!!! But Holy Spirit is clear and your post confirms for me I’m correct. The feeling was only “something is not right” and comes from a family of loved ones passing along the teachings at their church along with a few visits of my own. Unfortunately they’re not awake to the deceit. I can only pray, as any comments made only serves to have them dig in deeper. There is a feeling of an occult at work that holds tight to their members and overrides any outside influences, even parents. Is this a symptom of what you teach here? I’m not totally informed about all you say but I do know what I feel screams “something is not right” in the church…so many red flags. So how does one confirm and lead those who are being sucked into this lie and lead them onto the correct path? How can one gracefully lead them to the truth?

    Thank You!
    Sincerely,
    Vicki

    1. Hi Vicki;
There definitely is an evil spirit present in the promotion of all false doctrine. Most cannot discern it as it takes a gifting of the Holy Ghost to be able to. It is encouraging to hear that gifting at work.

One of the most frightening aspects of the end-time deception is the fact the Scriptures say God will use it as a tool to sift out those who have no love for the truth.(2Thess. 2:9-12)

All we can do is earnestly pray for those we love and share the truth with them as God reveals it to us. In the end it is up to them to respond to the Word and the Spirit; both of which are at work to teach us the proper ways of God.

A love for the truth is as vital as the preaching of the truth; for without that hunger and thirst after the things of God we will just stew in the pacifications and deceptions of the backslid American Church. God help us!
      Blessings to you sister;

  4. Thank You Paul…I needed to hear those exact words! The sorrow I feel for those who don’t seek the truth is overwhelming at times. You’re right, we are, each and ever one of us responsible for ourselves. No one can save us from the lies, only ourselves and only when we seek God’s truth. He is the word, the word is God and it’s all there is!

John 1:1 -In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Praise the Lord for His word.

    Blessings to you also,
    Vicki

  5. Hello there mr Benson

I thorougly liked your synopsis on the dominionist movement. Rings true all the way even here to cold Scandinavia. Finland to be particular. I always admired the old fashion christians of the Us and their straight biblicism.

But times are changing and as my sister in Christ Vicki from Jcsouthwests blog points out all is not right.

Not here nor there! You are a breath of fresh air in a nauseous ecosystem of deception mr Benson! Thumbs up and prayers for you ☺

  6. Great article and it’s needed that the whole subject of these false teachings be brought out.
Hope many take the time to look into these things and compare all things to scripture.

I watched a sermon that sounded ok..til the end, where the man said Christ WILL NOT return until we make the world such a place (so good and wonderful) that He can return to it, …and etc etc.
Yes 7 mountain mandate denies way many truths of God’s word.

Also glad you brought into it the ecumenical aspect/world religions, also called inter-faithisms, this is another huge deception in the world and hope many will also look into that and compare the inter-faithers doctrine statements etc with God’s word.

Is it possible many will follow what man say’s over what God has said partly because they never looked and still seldom look into what God has said?
(the old saying Christians don’t read and heed their own bibles)
A famous and wonderful verse which often sadly has the end cut off is Matthew 12:30, Luke 11:23..the Lord Jesus saying-he that gathereth not with Me scattereth..if people are not gathering with the Lord and in His word..they scatter? to any wind of mandoctrine?
And Jeremiah 17:5 talks of a curse for those who trust in man and forget the Lord.
Yeah just because someone is on TV even doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

I heard one person say about a TV preacher preaching wrongly and after I gave them the some verses that proved the wrong preaching, the person said…I don’t care I like this guy…sad and also an eye opener.

Anyway great article and subject, blessings to you.
