I receive a lot of correspondence (personal as well as through my web-site and Blog-page) that tells me the American Church in general is terribly lacking in a proper understanding of God’s sovereignty over the government of this nation. They seem to think Donald Trump himself is responsible for the ‘reprieve’ we have been granted from the tsunami of liberal madness that seeks to flood our nation today (and the eventual consequences of the culturally-damaging decisions that madness fosters).
There are a great many folks promoting this notion of Trump as being the ‘savior of America’ in this day, among them being Mark (The Firefighter) Taylor of whom I did an article a while back rebuking the way a failed prophesy of his from 2011 was deceptively revamped to promote him to near ‘celebrity status’ among the American Church. I don’t normally deal with individuals in my efforts to counter falsehood; and instead try to concentrate on exposing the particular false doctrines they are promoting. But at times it is necessary to name names. Here is a link to my article on the “Firefighter Prophesy” – if you have not yet read it doing so might help you better understand my angst of this current trend of ‘Trump worship’ among the Western Church.
The Prosperity of America versus The Judgment of America: (Is Mark ‘The Firefighter’ Taylor Really Hearing From God?)
Let me share with you a couple of recent comments on my Blog article on the ‘Firefighter Prophesy’, and my responses to those comments, that illustrate the point I am trying to make here today:
(COMMENT FROM J.M.) I have learnt to tremble at GOD’S WORD. I find Mark Taylor to be a true prophet. Yet, I have learnt that prophets can also make mistakes, sometimes. It is not for us to judge any prophet of GOD. I would leave it to GOD to correct him As prophets, we can easily be guilty of pride. So, we have to re-examine ourselves and repent constantly so that we are not guilty of pride. I personally believe that the LORD is coming soon to meet us in the air. This will be followed by the destruction of America, and the period we call the GREAT TRIBULATION. This could be as early as the end of next year.
(MY RESPONSE TO J.M.)
Hi J.M. Yes, the Lord alone is the ultimate judgment of mankind. But to say we should not lift our voices over falsehoods being fed to the Flock of God (particularly if we be called as watchmen) is paramount to compromise and dereliction of duty.
Mark Taylor’s rise to popularity (and thus the basis for the ministry he puts forth) is founded upon a false prophesy. His prophesy was about Trump beating Barack Obama in the 2012 election; and we know that ‘prophesied’ scenario turned out to be absolutely bogus. And the way he speaks evil of those teaching anything negative about this nation (and it’s future state) further marks him as one who is NOT speaking forth the mind of Christ.
The Bible promises divine Judgment upon ALL nations who forsake the Lord; and to promote this country as one deserving the blessing of God you must ignore the abortion, homosexuality, pornography production and consumption, and every other abomination Americans embrace like it’s a God-given right.
The future of this nation is NOT a continuing ‘Greatness”; rather it is divine Judgment according to the pattern and promise of the Word of God.
And as far as any ‘pre-tribulation rapture’ event whisking the Church away to Heaven before the reign of Antichrist and his persecution of the Saints: Now YOU yourself are assuming the role of a false speaker and are in danger of standing before God as a false witness. False teaching is NOT benign, it is malignant and spreads into deeper and deeper error which ultimately damages those who embrace it.
I just did a video on the true biblical timing of the Rapture. I hope you would take a few minutes and prayerfully consider what was clearly shown in that teaching.
(SECOND COMMENT FROM J.M. – Now he does some prophesying of his own!)
GOD gave me a message this MORNING… HE said:= ***MY FAVOR is on USA. ****MY GRACE is still on USA as long as Donald J Trump is President. Do not fear IRAN or ANY OTHER NATION.
(MY RESPONSE TO J.M.’S SECOND COMMENT)
We do (and should) rejoice in the fact the mercy of God has been extended to this undeserving nation as long as it has. Our Father in Heaven is a God who is slow to anger and full of compassion and mercy!
But the fact God is calling this nation to repentance is going pretty much unheeded; and the Scriptures promise Judgment upon a nation that forgets their God (Psalm 9:17). That Judgment lays in America’s future no matter who is in the Oval Office.
And as far as Trump being responsible for what benefit we are seeing through his administration we would do well to remember the admonition of the Scriptures that says:
Pro_21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
It is GOD HIMSELF that determines what sort of governmental behavior we receive. Basically: We get the government we deserve according to our actions and lifestyles. Most believers who are all extolling Trump as America’s savior fail to realize that God could have just as easily turned the heart of Hillary Clinton to accomplish his will if he so chose. And God could just as well harden Trumps heart as he did that of Pharaoh. It’s NOT who is in office that sets the stage for what governmental officials dictate! It is our sovereign God!
America was greatly blessed of God because of the strong base of Godliness and righteousness that permeated our America culture. Yes, there have always been the wicked among us following after their perverse desires, but on the whole America used to be a godly (God-fearing) nation. Those days are no more!
Divine Judgment awaits this nation; and a great purging of the American Church is in our future! We would do well make sure we ourselves are each personally deserving of the favor and blessing of God upon our individual lives; and to to place our confidence not in who is in the White House but who sits on the throne in Heaven. IMHO
The man who commented to my article (J.M.) seems to share the grave misconception that so many are voicing today. That as long as Trump is in office America has nothing but smooth sailing in her future. Only grace and blessing as long as we got D. Trump sailing this ship!
I hate to burst anyone’s bubble here BUT… Donald Trump is NOT our Savior. Our Savior sits on a throne in Heaven! And he alone deserves all the accolades (and even worship!) that is being bestowed upon the current occupier of the White House!
Let’s not exalt man when we ought to be exalting Jesus; and voicing our thanksgiving for the mercy he is showing forth to wicked America whilst he calls her to repentance.
Come on people! We need to rouse ourselves from this foolish sleepy-eyed delusion that just because Donald Trump was elected president that means America is still righteous in God’s eyes and deserving of his unending favor. That is a deluded state of mind that ignores what God is REALLY speaking to this Nation. And that is this:
REPENT BEFORE YOUR MERCY RUNS OUT AND THE CURSE OF GOD OVERTAKES YOU!
I don’t do a lot of prophesying. But I WILL state this as a ‘thus sayeth the Lord!‘: Short of nation-wide repentance (that severely alters the the mentality, morality, and behavior of the American populous) the Curse of God will soon be manifest upon this nation (in an increasingly progressive manner) regardless of whom is in the White House!
A nation that lays claim to the Blessing of God must also acknowledge the reciprocal of that blessing; and that is the promise of the curse of God for disobedience!
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: Deuteronomy 28:15
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee. Deuteronomy 28:48
And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; Deuteronomy 28:63
Part of that promised curse that follows the loss of God’s blessing is the loss of liberty. God promised Israel that if the curse came upon them they would be invaded by, and governed by, a foreign nation which would show them horrible oppression!
Is this the future of our nation?
Many believe that to a great extent this has already happened, and we are too blind to realize it! I do to a certain extant concur; but I also believe we have only seen the beginning of the oppression and hardship to come – IF there is no genuine repentance.
And let’s get it right here: I am talking about God judging America as a nation, not about him cursing the truly righteous who might be living in this country. Though we all will be impacted by the coming divine Judgment upon our nation God has the ability (and intention) of bringing forth blessing for the righteous in the midst of it all. If you need it, here is some encouragement I gave along those lines in another article:
If YOU are one who has been caught up in this unrealistic ‘It’s Okay to relax – Trump our savior from liberalism is at the helm!’ mentality then PLEASE bring your head back out here where the Sun shines and get in touch with what God is truly speaking. (And if you think the Rapture will happen BEFORE the ‘bad stuff’ in store for this nation begins to unfold then you are truly deluded!)
Here is where I believe the focus of the believer should be right now: Yes, God can show us favor in the midst of Judging the wicked; but if our own mentality, morality, and life-style is not all that different from that of the unbelievers how can we expect our own fate to be any different than theirs?
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 1Corinthians 11:31
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2Corinthians 6:17
Let’s prepare ourselves; and align our hearts, minds, and actions in accord with God’s will. That when those prophesied chaotic times do come we can have an assurance that, even though we are not promised exemption from persecution and trying times, we can have an expectation that God will show us mercy and favor that the lukewarm and disobedient will not know.
It’s comin’ folks! GET READY!
Blessings upon all who love our Christ;
