Why is it that the Western Church is so willing to accept wacky alternative renderings of Scripture all the while turning a blind eye to the fact they are so obviously errant? Is this not apostasy in action?
by Paul Benson
(I know I have recently touched upon the issues addressed in this article; but feel led to do so in a more thorough manner. So I ask my readers to please excuse any redundancy. P.B.)
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Revelation 21:27
Of all the truths critical to the well-being of humanity we can say certainly the most vital center around the love of God for us, and his desire to rescue us from the consequence of sin through faith in his Son and the sacrifice of Calvary. And I hope that divine truth reigns supreme in your consciousness!
And there is definite reason that the Apostle Paul said ‘comfort one another with these words’ in regard to the resurrection of the dead and the future catching away of the believers. The reality of the resurrection unto eternal life is the hope of the believer. And we should all be firmly settled in that hope.
But as a watchman at the wall I feel divinely compelled to consistently raise warning concerning another vein of truth. And that is concerning the danger of people of faith being seduced away from Christ by the lure of deception. That there are those who can with great subtlety twist the truth into a lie. And they can make these lies sound so plausible and reasonable with their ‘great swelling words of vanity’ (2Peter 2:18) that it can corrupt your understanding of God’s ways to the point you lose your grip on the truth.
And this is one area where we had better ‘get it right’! God is a God of Truth. Lies and deceptions are a defilement and an abomination to him! Please read the opening verse again asking the question: What will be the fate of those who turn aside to lies, and defile others with those lies?
Scary business. The path to eternal life is truth. We must not depart from that path!
Is there any correlation between the number 10 and the time of great tribulation? I think maybe we have missed something there!
by Paul Benson
…and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.-Jesus to the Church at Smyrna
Let me start by saying I am not really a big numerology buff. Many Christians are. And some take it to such extremes that they are seeing (and hearing) things I believe are not really there!
When we start searching for ‘revelations’ we desperately want to see, rather than searching for the voice of God to speak what he wants to say to us personally, we are opening doors that might be better left closed. Without the leading of the Holy Spirit we are likely to get distracted, or worse yet out-right deceived. And I actually feel straying too far into numerology can lead to a sin akin to seeking guidance from the stars. (I am speaking of astrology.)
I sometimes get lengthy e-mails so full of numbers, symbols, and disjointed thoughts trying to tie them all together that it is impossible to make heads or tails of what the person is trying to communicate. It sounds like: ‘When you add this to that and divide it by this you get so and so; and when that is compared to this number added to that one, and now related to all these other numbers, you MUST come to this conclusion!’
And I have to sit back and go: ‘Lord, is there anything you are trying to say to me through this jumbled up mess?’ And not very often do I get any ‘quickening’ from those lengthy treatises! Not to offend anyone but I see so many go out into la-la land over numbers and sequences of numbers that it has kind of turned me off to deeper exploration of this topic.
But in this matter, as well as all things, we must be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. And we should realize that at times God certainly does speak through various numbers in the Bible. I view the number 10 as being one of those prominent numbers. Let’s look at that number in relation to end-time events. Continue reading “Tribulation And The Number 10”
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.-Jesus the Christ
In a comment concerning last weeks guest post ‘The Rapture of the Church is after the Tribulation – by Rob Miller’ brother Roy Peterson brought up the question of the length of the tribulation and the later outpouring of God’s wrath at the Second Coming. Since answering this issue led to many associated thoughts I have put them into this weeks article. Continue reading “How Long Will The Prophesied ‘Time Of Great Tribulation’ Last?”
Should the city of Neom really be named ‘Neo-Bable’? Maybe!
Much has been said recently about the proposed construction of a massive city in the middle-east named Neom. A vast metropolis that will dwarf New York City many times over, and built with AI as its central nervous system, it will also amazingly promote the modernizing of Islamic religion and culture, and the melding of it into a new-age mindset of global unity. Of all the talks I have heard on this issue I would like to refer you to one by Watchman Alexander. Continue reading “The City of Neom (and its role in the fulfillment of end-time prophecy).”
I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. Isaiah 48:3
Sometimes when the Lord is dealing with me, and speaking his truth more deeply into my spirit, I get a word or phrase stuck in my mind and cannot seem to get away from it. In recent days I seem to be somewhat stuck on the word ‘Suddenly!’.
Although our Creator is a loving God, who has remarkably demonstrated his patience and long-suffering countless times through out history, he is also a God who is quite prone to come on the scene in a sudden and unexpected manner. Continue reading “When ‘Suddenly!’ Comes Calling!”
The Bible teaches us that the last days will be full of signs and wonders both from God as well as from the Devil! Do you know how to tell the difference?
by Paul Benson
And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. Luke 21:11
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders… 2Thessalonians 2:9
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Revelation 16:14
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:20
The Bible speaks of not only true signs and wonders from God prophesied to transpire in these last days, but also false signs and lying wonders designed to lure us away from the path of righteousness. How in the world are we supposed to sort all this out and make sure we are following the right signs? Is there any sure-fired way to distinguish between the two, and keep from being led astray? I believe there is! Continue reading “Sorting Out The Signs And Wonders Of The Last Days!”
Have you been told a pre-tribulation ‘rapture’ is the ‘mystery of God’ which was revealed to the Apostle Paul? That is NOT how the Bible portrays the mystery Paul preached!
by Paul Benson
(NOTE: I felt led of the Lord of rework this article a bit and republish it at this time. Why not share it with your pre-trib believing friends or family? It may be the eye-opener they need to start questioning the correctness of their beliefs! -P.B.)
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Ephesians 3:9
The Apostle said that as followers of Christ we are joined together in the fellowship (partnership) of a great mystery. Many folks seem to be confused as to just what that mystery is; and the devil is most assuredly at work to obfuscate the beautiful reality of it. He is constantly at work to lead us away from it with deceptions and distractions.
But it is the will of the Father that this mystery be revealed to those that love him. And through the enlightenment of his Word and his Spirit that wonderful treasure chest of mystery is opened; and the precious contents can now become our possession! Let’s look at what the Bible really teaches about that mystery hidden in God since the creation of the world.
It is getting more and more common to hear preachers and teachers refer to the concept of a pre-tribulation rapture as ‘the mystery of God revealed to Paul’. We are led to believe that this concept has somehow been hidden away from the world (and apparently from the Church for 1800 years) but is right there in the Word of God as plain as day for all to see. And that we need only a little guiding (and a proper understanding of God’s plan) to see it for ourselves. But should we take the bait and swallow that hook, or swim right around that notion? Could a catching away of the Church before the time of great tribulation possibly be the great mystery of God revealed to Paul? Continue reading “The Rapture Is NOT ‘The Mystery God Revealed To Paul’!”
Is the study of end-time prophesy confusing to you? It shouldn’t be! Do you shy away from personal Bible study in this area because of the confusion it causes you? There is a cure for this confused condition. It’s called sound doctrine!
by Paul Benson
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.-Paul an apostle of Christ
Recently John Little from Omegashock.com devoted a portion of his weekly writing to the rapidly rising cognitive defect inflicting the populous. I also recognize this trend which is so apparent among the world in general; but is also, and quite concerning to me, clearly evident within the ranks of the Body of Christ in particular. And worsening as time progresses!
It seems like so very many have lost the power to think for themselves or engage in the vital (and sometimes lifesaving) practice of critical reasoning. It grows increasingly clear that a spirit of confusion has the masses (and much of the Church) in its grasp. I see this as a true sign that we are in the end-times.
Satan gains enormous control over mankind through fear, chaos, and confusion. Through the dramatic rise in these unsanctified fruits of satanic influence the people of the world (both secular and religious) are being prepped to come under the control of the tyrannical ‘beast system’ prophesied to rule in the final days of this age. This evil entity has been lingering in an adolescent stage for quite some time, but is rapidly maturing before our very eyes, and will soon ascend to its unholy throne.
A confused mind is much more easily controlled than a sound mind which can reason clearly. A major cause of confusion is when one is presented with (and then accepts) conflicting information. I wholeheartedly believe the spirit of confusion baptizing the religious world in this day and age is in a large way a by-product of conflicting and confusing doctrines.
Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. James 5:19-20
Over and over the Holy Spirit asks me this question; and here I once again pose it to you: Just how important is it to abide in the truth and to stay free from the grasp of error? James said when you steer someone back to the way of truth you have saved his soul from death! One falsehood opens the door to another; and if we are not careful our lives can quickly be over-run with error.
The Highway of Truth that leads to eternal life has but one on-ramp (Jesus: the way, the truth, and the life), but sadly this path has many exits. And many deceiving spirits are at work constantly attempting to steer the true followers of Christ toward one of those exits. The danger of embracing concepts and teachings which have no foundation in the truth of God’s Word cannot be overstated!
To depart from the truth is to depart from Christ who IS the truth. Could there be any greater danger to the believer?
Have you been told the Church has gone missing from Earth after the ‘come up hither’ of Revelation 4:1? You have been seriously misinformed!
by Paul Benson
The notion of a ‘Pre-tribulation Rapture’ of the Church is one of the most satanic delusions ever to confront the Body of Christ. But quite sadly it is also one of the most widely received. And a large segment of the Christian community has no clue as to the satanic scheme behind that myth. What better way to get your adversaries to enter the final battle with you ill-prepared than to convince them it is a battle they will never fight?
I show solid proof and biblical example of the danger and damage of that error in a write-up I titled The Curse Of The Pre-trib Rapture. If you have never read that article PLEASE do so. The understanding brought forth there is critical to the end-time believer. The disregarding of God’s warning against adding to or taking away from his Holy Word will bring tragic results to a multitude; and ultimately for many it will bring eternal perdition upon them! This matter is not a trifle one.
The greatest strength of the pre-trib teaching is not found in any Scriptural validation, but in the tendency of a self-centered and self-serving western Church to accept it with-out reservation. In studying out this matter, and responding to it, I have not found even one ‘unquestionable proof’ of a pre-trib rapture that does not fall to pieces when you actually DO question it, and subject it to the full counsel of God’s Word.
