Jeremiah: Blessing in Great Tribulation!

When the Judgment of God fell upon Jerusalem, remarkably the Blessing of God fell upon Jeremiah. As believers could we also find God’s favor in a time of Judgment?

(Of all the personal ‘words’ the Lord has given me this is truly one of my favorites! I feel a leading to republish it at this time for those who might not have read it. P.B.)

The Judgment of Jerusalem

For Israel’s sin and rebellion against him, God sent the enemy of his people to visit his judgment upon them. When Jerusalem finally fell, after the long horrible siege (that actually left some resorting to cannibalism!), then came the commander of Nebuchadnezzar’s army and sought out the prophet Jeremiah. But not to sentence him to a life of slavery, or to slay him (the fate of most of the priests, prophets, and citizens of that city). No! Not to harm him, but to BLESS HIM! And bless him he did. What was it that brought such an abundance of God’s favor upon Jeremiah? Let’s take a look at the life of this man of God. Continue reading “Jeremiah: Blessing in Great Tribulation!”

Victory in Jesus!

by Paul Benson

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  -Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ

Many people like to pin name-tags upon themselves: ‘Pastor So and So’, or ‘Apostle Follow-Me’, or ‘Prophet Seen-This-Seen-That’, and so on and so forth. I personally choose not to; but if I had to put a tag upon myself it would probably be something along the lines of ‘Paul a Recovering Failure as a Christian’. You see, I am the one who faltered in his faith. I am the one who lost his vision of the Promised Land, and spent years wandering in the wilderness of sin.

By the power of God’s grace that era of my walk is now some two decades behind me. I live a sanctified life free from habitual sin. And although I have an absolute confidence the sins of my past are forgiven, and I walk free of any condemnation over that disobedience, still I do not particularly like discussing those days. But from time to time I get a prompting from the Lord to revisit the defeat of those years, and the victory God brought to me, in the hopes of helping someone else find the victory they need. A Faith Builder! Seeing Jesus In The Old Testament Feasts!

Passover through Tabernacles: the Old Testament Feasts paint a prophetic tapestry of the Lord Jesus Christ and his role as our Savior. Recognizing this is a great faith builder!

The feasts of the ord

The Prophetic Feasts Of The Lord

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39

One of the greatest blessings I have ever had in studying the Scriptures is how God revealed to me the prophetic nature of the Old Testament feasts. That from Passover right through to Tabernacles the ‘Feasts of the Lord’ present an awe-inspiring prophetic picture of the birth, life, ministry, death, Resurrection, ascension, and current role as intercessor of our Lord Jesus Christ; as well as his future Coming to rule and reign!

How amazing that all these things concerning Christ could be perfectly foretold in the various aspects of the yearly feast days celebrated by God’s people down through the centuries. As a student of God’s Word I had always had a tiny glimpse of these truths through the New Testament usage of phrases like ‘Christ our Passover’ and ‘Christ the Firstfruits’ and so on. But it took an amazing encounter with the Holy Spirit to really shine the light on this; and when he did a whole new dimension of God’s Word wonderfully opened up to me. Have Faith In God pt. I

by Paul Benson

Have faith in God

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:22-23

A remarkable statement don’t you agree? No, not that you could speak to a mountain and see it cast into the sea; and no, not that you can speak faith filled words and actually have whatever you say. These are awesome truths, but what I find remarkable is the fact that Jesus felt He had to tell a bunch of believers to have faith in God! This tells us that there is somewhat of a difference between believing in God and having faith in Him.  Continue reading “A True Faith Healing!”

HAVE FAITH IN GOD pt. II

by Paul Benson

…and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5

Hopelessly Addicted To Nicotine!

One of most difficult struggles I have ever faced was overcoming the addiction to nicotine. God had done such a marvelous work to bring me back into His grace and I was full of a zeal to move on in the things of God; but shamefully I was still in bondage to a 2 pack a day smoking habit. The habit was so strong it would wake me in the middle of the night and I would have to smoke to be able to go back to sleep. During the day it was hard for me to go even an hour with out one before feeling uncomfortable. Continue reading “Overcoming Nicotine Addiction”
